Meet the Band

They emerge from a darkened corner of a local dive bar, instruments in hand, bar tab paid for. The band takes the stage to an audience of 73 at one of the last shows at Manayunk’s the Grape Room. Heavy guitar riffs, blistering solos, thundering drums and not one, but two singer song writers make up the bands eclectic sound. People leave, sweaty, impressed, undoubtedly clamoring for more. They just witnessed one of Conshohocken’s best bands play a set consisting uniquely of entirely original material. While categorically they are considered Alternative, they do not fit categorically into any one box. They are not pigeonholed into sounding like this generation’s version of that band you first heard 20 years ago. They bring with them a unique sound and energy wherever they play. Whether it is lighting up Philadelphia’s The Fire, or shaking the rust off The Rusty Nail, the band plays with the intensity and professionalism of an artist whose been around for 23 years, despite only playing for three.

The band consists of soulful yet intricate guitar player AJ Dececco, bassman and vocalist Sean Sacchetti, lead guitar extraordinaire Dominic Spier and the thunderous force of Justin Newman on drums. This band sounds like it all, a melting pot of punk, alternative, shoegaze, and more. This gumbo of styles has earned them fans and opening spots with a variety of local bands. They even have a reach globally, earning fans in Germany and the U.K. according to Instagram analytics. Riding the wave of these successes, the band still yearns for more. They want to play more, practice more, write more and record more. The band cannot and will not be stopped. The year of Freelance Sweatpants, no, the era of Freelance Sweatpants has only just begun!
